High Society Racing Season Overview
High Society Racing’s 2007 season has been CRAZY!! Our second season as a ‘team’ has been the largest yet! With all our new athletes and sponsors, High Society Racing hit the road for the 2007 Mountain States Cup and 2007 NORBA National series events.
This season started in April with Jay Morin racing 4x and Dual Slalom in Nathrop, CO at the Darner Venue for the ‘Yeti Spring Series’. Then again in May for the ‘Chalk Creek Stampede’, the first race of the ‘Mountain States Cup’ regional series.
Next Stop - New Mexico! Angel Fire New Mexico, the ‘Chile Challenge’ attracted the most competitors ever! High Society Racing was 6 deep; Jeremy Rungi, Jay Morin, Steve Valenti, Curt Clemetson, Justin Worth, and Colin Mabbett. We all rode hard and fast, but each class boasted 40 to 60 racers and most of us barely split the pack. We’ll for sure be back next year for a little redemtion!
The next few races in the circuit included some great results from our expert girl, Christen Boyer. This year Christen has proven to be the fastest rider in the expert women class by a long shot ; about 20 to 30 seconds! Good work Chris, but she needs some competition, Get out and ride girls!!
‘Blast the Mass’ included a hell of a venue. Fast, difficult courses and the sweetest place around, Snowmass of course! Our riders were so pumped, most of us got injured, two sent to the hospital, and bumps and bruises all around! That’s the nature of this game- Good work team. Semi pro Steve Valenti was our only podium with a well deserved 3rd
place finish.
We came back strong at the Snowmass National Finals Race and took podium after podium, here is the list.

- Curt Clemetson (dh) 2nd place - #2 National Final ranking
- Jay Morin (4x) 3rd place - #3 national final ranking, (dh) #8 national final ranking
- Jeremy Rungi (dh) 4th place - #5 national final ranking
HS Racing Team - Sport
- Colin Mabbett (dh) 2nd place
- Jose Currasco (dh) 3rd place
Our Racing team also traveled to Crested Butte, CO for the ‘Wildflower rush’, and Telluride, CO for one of our favorite races, ‘Full Tilt in Telluride’. We all raced strong and Christen Boyer came home with some hardware.
